ABOUT

James has been a teacher for 10 years and has experience in schools in England and Wales, in both the state and independent sectors. In 2015, James became an Apple Distinguished Educators and since then, has also qualified as a Google Certified Educator (Level 1 and Level 2) and a Microsoft Innovative Educator. Having been a leader of a number of whole-school mobile technology projects, James is well placed to assist and advise, whether you’re seeking to introduce technology or refine and enhance the way you use the technology at your disposal.


Philosophy…

At 3DTech, we focus on 3 key principles:

Strategy - Planning to ensure schools choose the correct devices and platforms, to meet their needs and that they have the infrastructure in place to support this.

Deployment - Working with IT teams to co-ordinate device and platform deployment, ensuring the technology is fit for purpose.

Development - Initial training for staff and developing a programme to support schools throughout their journey.

We are device and platform agnostic: we opt to conduct a comprehensive analysis of your requirements and develop a solution that best meets your needs. As a result, we are well equipped to assist schools, wherever they are on their journey to adopt or adapt technology.

Experience…

James' greatest asset is adaptability. Whether training inexperienced users of technology, presenting to parents or participating in high-level strategy meetings with senior leaders, he is able to present with clarity to ensure he meets best meets the needs of those present.

He places an emphasis leading by example has been regularly asked to share instances of best practice by inviting fellow teachers into the classroom. Having presented at Apple events to school senior leaders, hosted sessions at HMC (the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference) regional meetings or discussed digital strategy with delegates from schools including Eton College (Windsor), The Perse (Cambridge), Ipswich School (Ipswich), his focus is always on sharing and modelling examples of best practice, encouraging the impactful use of technology.


With an extensive knowledge of an array of major devices and educational technology platforms, James is able to assess the specific needs of your school and advise at a strategic planning level, your next steps on your journey in the use technology. With experience in the use of Apple, Google and Microsoft devices and platforms, he can support you every step of the way, no matter what path your school takes.


With a desire to seek to continuously develop his skills further, James regularly attends workshops with major technology vendors, education conferences and academic seminars. Highlights have included attending a lecture by Dr Ruben Puentedura, examining the SAMR model and how technology can be used to redefine the learning experience. Furthermore, in 2018, he completed a Masters degree at Cardiff University, which included researching the use of technology to develop the literacy skills of learners, exploring how elements from the Welsh Literacy and Numeracy and Digital Competence Frameworks, could be incorporated across the curriculum.
